Facing new enemies
by Robyn Collins - Head of RSL DefenceCare
Serving in the Defence Force is a high-risk occupation. It’s physically and mentally demanding with exposure to some of the worst situations imaginable. Some Defence members can suffer mental health issues such as anxiety, post-traumatic stress and depression - invisible battles as a consequence of their service and fights that continue even when they return home.
These health issues are the new enemies that rage war on some of our veterans - and why organisations like RSL DefenceCare are needed.
Help us help them
RSL DefenceCare provides safe, compassionate and practical assistance to veterans and their families.
As well as help with claims, advocacy and treatment, we also provide counselling services and financial aid when there’s no one else to turn to.
RSL DefenceCare is dedicated to helping our returned soldiers with life after war. Your donations help us help them. Text CARE to 1990 1111* ($5/message received, 25c/message sent).
